Disco Star France "Come To Me" Joli Performing on The Women's Stage!

On July 7, 1979, an unknown, 16-year-old French Canadian female vocalist named France Joli performed her new single “Come to Me” for the first time before a throng of 5,000 on Fire Island at a benefit now infamously known as Beach ’79. It’s unbelievable that—almost 40 years later—this globally known gay icon has yet to appear on any San Francisco stage...until now. In addition to performing her biggest hits “Come to Me” and “Gonna Get Over You” on SF Pride’s Women’s Stage, Joli will sing her medley of disco anthems made classics by other artists. She’ll also present, for the very first time in public, her new single, “Don’t Forget to Dance.” That song—which she co-wrote and co-produced—is part of the just-released compilation album “Love is Love,” which celebrates equal rights for all with 10% of net proceeds going to the Family Equality Council, a national non-profit whose mission is to advance legal and lived equality for LGBTQ families, and for those who wish to form them.
